As the last bank holiday weekend of 2017 comes to a close and the shops start stocking autumn clothes, I’ve been thinking about the packing essentials for autumn holidays.
In the past, I’ve made the mistake of taking too many clothes on holiday thinking that it would make it easier for me to put together several different outfits but actually, I was doing it all wrong! It’s all about taking a few key staples and not having to drag that massive heavy suitcase around. In fact, there were always a few pieces of clothing that I took on holiday but never even got the chance to wear so it just shows that it’s better to plan ahead and pack key pieces.
So here it is, my autumn packing essentials!
I don’t know about you but I love to add a pop of colour to my everyday routine, it brightens up my day! This red stripey sweater is super chic and is an easy way to add colour to your look. You can wear it over a basic tee or a camisole and incase it gets a bit too warm whilst you’re being a tourist and walking everywhere, it is light and easy to fold up into your bag.
Whenever I go away, I always take a plain camisole with me. Why? Because it is just so easy to pack and can go with just about anything!
Another suitcase staple of mine is a basic t-shirt from Gap. I absolutely love their t-shirts, they are so practical and reasonably priced. In fact, I actually have several of them in my wardrobe in different colours.
Whether I go away for a few days or a few weeks, I always make sure I take a couple pairs of jeans with me, one of them being white. I feel that a white pair of jeans are a bit more dressed up that a normal pair of blue jeans.
When it comes to dresses, I always go for ones with a light fabric as I know I’ll probably be getting a bit sweaty from all the walking around. I’ll take 2 or 3 dresses so that I have something nice to wear when we go out for dinner. This lemon print dress from Pretty Little Thing is gorgeous and the lemon print is right up my street!
Comfortable and stylish, these two pair of shoes are the holy grail. Never ever sacrifice comfort in place for style.
