It’s the bank holiday weekend!! I’m spending this one doing a spot of wedding planning.
So whenever I meet up with any of my friends or family, the first thing they ask me is how the wedding planning is going and my answer is always ‘yeah, it’s going okay’ but for some reason, everyone thinks that I should be stressed out and panicking about the big day.
At this point, with only three months to go, Sam and I reckon we’ve pretty much got everything that’s important sorted.
Our venue is where we are having the ceremony and the reception so they sort out all the food and drinks too, the only thing that was a bit disappointing is that they charge very high corkage fees so we ended up having to go with their alcohol list, which isn’t cheap either! I guess it must be a food and safety issue for them to charge such high corkage fees? Unfortunately, you guys are going to have to wait til the big day to find out where my venue is!
Our photographer is the most talented woman ever, her name is Christina Sarah and her website is https://christinasarah.com/. Her photos are classic natural light imagery and it absolutely resonates with me, if you’ve been following me on Instagram you would know that I love being bright and colourful with a dash of pink here and there. I’m so pleased I found her.
My dress was from David’s Bridal, I went down there with my mum and sister (maid of honour) and it was the third dress I put on and in that moment all three of us knew it was the one! It’s weird how it all happened and so quickly too! I actually went for something that was the complete opposite of what I had in mind before I walked into the store which was very surprising but apparently, that always happens. I would totally recommend checking Davids Bridal as they have such a wide selection of dresses from the affordable to high end range.
I wanted to make my wedding a west meets east kind of wedding to incorporate a bit of Chinese culture into the day. So on the morning of the wedding, we are having a Chinese tea ceremony with parents and close family. I got a bit stuck on how to incorporate an oriental theme into the wedding breakfast and evening reception but in the end, I decided to buy cute little oriental hand fans to place on top of the plates as part of the table setting. I thought this would make the tables look colourful as well as providing a bit of fun for the guests as the fans would make for great and fun photos!
The main aim for today is sort out what accessories I want to wear in my hair on the day, I really love the look of a hair vine but all the ones I have seen online just aren’t quite right. I want a really natural floral kind of look that isn’t too overpowering without having to use fresh flowers. The ones I have looked either have massive flowers on them or have quite thick wires and faux pearls. Really contemplating just using fresh flowers now.
So that’s it, my 3 month to go update!
Thanks for reading.
